Wattenbarger Architects is looking for architectural staff with 2-8 years experience. We have a number of townhome / multi-family / senior housing projects in the Puget sound area and are looking to fill this position immediately. Founded in 1980, Wattenbarrer Architects is located in Bellevue WA. Our office is located on Lake Bellevue and has free parking and easy access to light rail. Our firm’s historic focus is on senior housing, including independent, assisted living, and memory care. In recent years we have expanded or focus to include mixed use and multifamily residential design. Wattenbarger Architects has completed projects across the country and has active projects in Washington, California, Idaho and Hawaii. We are looking for a candidate with a professional degree in architecture. Licensure is not a requirement, however we are looking for a candidate with sufficient experience to fully contribute to design and production. Applicants should be proficient in Revit and MS Office. Experience with AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop, Powerpoint, and other graphics, rendering and presentation software is a +. Applicants should also have good verbal and written communications skills.

We are a small firm, with a current staff of 14. We take our work seriously, but have a relaxed atmosphere. We value our employees and work with them to support their career development goals by providing both in house and external continuing education sessions and AXP support. We are not currently open to telecommuting on a regular basis, and require staff to be in the office 4 days a week. We do try to allow for flexibility in schedule to help our employees maintain a healthy work life balance.

General Responsibilities will depend upon the skills and experience of the candidate and may include the following.

  • Develop architectural designs from conceptual ideas working with Principals and senior design staff.
  • Provide construction document drafting, coordination, and support using Revit.
  • Coordination with other design consultants and other stakeholders in the project.
  • Provide assistance with code studies and analysis.
  • Assistance in applying for required approvals by the AHJ. Experience with the Washington State Department of Health plan review process is a +.
  • Product and design research in support of projects.
  • Provide construction administration services in support of projects.
