Job summary

Graham Baba Architects in Seattle, WA is seeking an Architectural Staff with 3-5 years of experience to contribute to a diverse mix of projects from kiosks to large master plans. The role emphasizes design-first and human-centered principles within a collaborative, small-firm environment.

You will assist with design concepts, drawings, models, code research, and coordination with consultants, while developing skills across multiple project types and scales; a strong graphic communication ability

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on design concepts and develop concepts into practical solutions.
  • Prepare drawings, models (physical and virtual), diagrams, and presentation materials.
  • Support code research, zoning analysis, and regulatory coordination.
  • Coordinate with project teams and consultants.
  • Assist with construction administration and marketing content.

Location: Seattle, WA Status: Full-Time, Exempt

We're looking for an architectural staff member with 3-5 years of experience to join our team. This position is an opportunity for a motivated, creative person to work on a diverse mix of projects, ranging from 500 sf coffee kiosks to 50 acre master plans, with GBA's design-first and human-centered values. Our ideal candidate values stretching both their left and right brain, embraces teamwork and collaboration, possesses excellent graphic communication skills, and can juggle and prioritize multiple tasks with grace.

What We Need You To Do
  • Collaborate on design concepts and the development of concepts into practical solutions.
  • Contribute to the preparation of drawings, models (physical and virtual), diagrams, and presentation materials.
  • Support code research, zoning analysis, and regulatory coordination.
  • Collaborate with project teams and consultants.
  • Assist with construction administration activities as experience develops.
  • Assist with generating content for business development and marketing pursuits.
  • Contribute to the integration of AI in architectural practice
  • Juggle multiple roles and project types/sizes while staying organized and detail-oriented.
  • Contribute to and participate in the office culture - and bring a great sense of humor.
Who You Are
  • A detail-oriented generalist who believes that good design is critical to all projects.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Architecture, working collaboratively on teams and leading/managing projects.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills, with the ability to clearly express ideas across different formats.
  • Reliable, organized, and committed to following through on responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Curious and willing to explore a range of ideas, approaches, and design solutions.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working across a variety of project types, scales, and tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on producing accurate and thoughtfully considered work.
  • Collaborative by nature, with experience working effectively with project teams, consultants, and clients.
  • Motivated to continually develop skills, expand knowledge, and grow professionally.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit and Enscape; familiar with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Bluebeam.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range is $63,000 - $81,000 with a generous benefits package. Final salary decisions are determined by local market, a candidate's skillset, years of experience, and internal equity.

  • 80 hours of accrued vacation, 56 hours of accrued sick/safe time, 8 paid holidays
  • Annual discretionary profit-sharing contribution (dependent upon firm profitability)
  • Annual discretionary performance bonus (dependent upon firm profitability)
  • Reimbursement for Washington State Architectural license fees plus support for seeking licensure
  • 50% coverage of AIA membership dues
  • $500 annual continuing education benefit
  • Half-time pay for approved volunteer activities up to 40 hours per year
