Job Summary

The primary function of the architectural sales representative is to sell our products to architects, general contractors, designers, and developers. An integral part of the job is building long-term relationships with clients and customers by becoming a trusted, valued resource in the community. Another integral part of the job is project management by planning, implementing, tracking, overseeing and documenting all aspects of the specific project you are working on.

Architectural Sales Representative Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our products and serve as a product expert for our existing and potential clients.
  • Generate proposals, estimates, and quotations in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Review, determine eligibility, complete take offs, communicate with bidders lists and provide a detailed submittal and O & M Manual preparation for projects.
  • Document, track, and follow through all known project specifications from initial spec to order completion.
  • Document and maintain project and sales activities by filing Purchase Orders, Submittals, Order Acknowledgements and maintaining an organized job file system.
  • Obtain delivery information from the freight carriers and communicate information to customers.
  • Work with accounting department for processing of customer payment applications.
  • Identify new customer opportunities and grow sales.
  • Build strong relationships by interacting with key companies and decision makers. This can be done through product knowledge presentations, lunch & learns, and various events.
  • Visit customers and job sites, as needed, to provide product support and technical expertise.

Architectural Sales Representative Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Construction Management or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in sales, project management and/or estimating.
  • Knowledge in commercial construction industry preferred.
  • Strong influencing skills; ability to drive results and revenue.
  • Familiar with architectural specifications, construction design elements and able to confidently make technical presentations and project recommendations.
  • Objective driven with self-managing capabilities.
  • Flexible, with the ability to work in a position where daily tasks are never the same.
  • Multi-tasker that can work with tight deadlines.
  • A team player with the ability to interact in a positive and constructive fashion.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized.
  • Continually strives for accuracy and quality.
  • Energetic and self-motivated with high level of professionalism.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; typing speed 60 wpm.
