Position Overview

Construction Specialties, Inc. (CS) is seeking an Architectural Sales Consultant to join our team. This remote role requires residence within 45 minutes of Atlanta's center. The successful candidate will focus on growing sales through specifications and developing relationships with architects, designers, general contractors, subcontractors, and engineers.

Scope of Position

The role involves:

  • Identifying and qualifying project leads to build a pipeline within the assigned territory.
  • Creating specification volume to meet or exceed sales targets.

Essential Duties

  • Generate and enhance CS design specifications in the territory, tracking and closing opportunities to increase sales and margin.
  • Engage early in project design stages, tracking prospects in CRM from bidding to closure.
  • Identify, qualify, and convert new project leads into the pipeline.
  • Track design projects and bid opportunities for the upcoming 12 months.
  • Use CRM effectively to document accounts, contacts, and activities.
  • Influence design choices by engaging with key project influencers to specify CS solutions.
  • Leverage CS’s competitive advantages throughout the sales process.
  • Update and create architect specifications to expand CS’s market presence.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, contractors, and engineers to expand coverage and relationships.
  • Recommend product solutions and service improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and sales.
  • Utilize CS team resources, such as Product Specialists, for product sales.
  • Understand installation practices and align CS solutions with customer needs.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience in construction, contracting, or related fields.
  • Strong desire for learning and relationship building.
  • Effective communication and sales skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Experience with cold calling and team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and math skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction processes and architectural specifications.
