Job summary

SERA Architects in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a Project Manager to organize and lead projects of moderate complexity, under supervision, ensuring design intent, schedules, budgets, and contract deliverables are met.

You will work with owners, staff, and consultants to define goals, develop scope and proposals, manage staffing and communications, and maintain office standards for documentation and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited program.
• Architectural License is preferred.
• Generally requires 4-7 years of experience.
• Proficiency with accounting and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising and coordinating project teams under supervision, progressing toward independent leadership on smaller projects.
• Support building internal project teams with skills aligned to project needs.
• Help define project goals with client and team, and develop goals for smaller projects as experience grows.
• Assist in contract preparation and support negotiations.
• Help prioritize goals, scope, and tasks to meet client needs and escalate issues as needed.
• Support staffing planning and project staff coordination.
• Assist in developing project scope, fees, and proposals under supervision, aiming to independently develop for smaller projects.
• Support consultant scope, schedule, and fees negotiations.
• Potentially participate in marketing and business development opportunities.
• Collaborate with accounting on routine project financials and data integrity in systems.
• Contribute to team morale and collaboration.
• Identify staff skills and areas of interest for input to leadership.
• Help carry out project goals through design, technical decisions, and cost considerations.
• Support adherence to office standards for design, documentation, technical performance, Revit, and graphics.
• Track changes in scope, schedule, and fees and escalate as needed.
• Develop understanding of project metrics like utilization and profitability.
