Job summary

AppleOne Technical Staffing has partnered with a downtown Orlando architecture firm to seek an experienced Project Manager for Higher Education projects. The role leads planning, budgeting, schedules, and client relationships while guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design.

The ideal candidate brings 8–15 years in architecture, strong PM and leadership skills, and Revit/MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of architectural experience.
  • Significant Higher Education project experience.
  • Strong PM, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, teams, and consultants.
  • Proficiency in Revit and MS Office.
  • RA license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate architectural project teams from planning through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project workplans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with Principal-in-Charge and internal teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate consultants and manage monthly invoice processing.
  • Interact with owners to ensure goals and expectations are met.
  • Assist with proposals, interviews, and marketing efforts.
  • Provide direction and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to high design standards.
  • Occasionally work onsite at client locations; majority in Orlando office.

Project Manager – Architecture | Higher Education

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join an established architecture firm in downtown Orlando. This is an excellent opportunity for an architect with strong project management experience who enjoys leading teams, working directly with clients, and delivering thoughtful, high-quality design.

The ideal candidate will bring 8-15 years of architectural experience, with a strong background in Higher Education projects. You’ll work closely with the Principal-in-Charge and multidisciplinary project teams, taking ownership of project planning, budgets, schedules, client relationships, and project delivery.

What You'll Do

Lead and coordinate architectural project teams from planning through completion.

Develop and maintain project workplans, budgets, and schedules.

Collaborate closely with the Principal-in-Charge and internal team members.

Build and maintain positive relationships with owners, clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Coordinate consultants and support preparation of consultant agreements and monthly invoice processing.

Interact directly with owners and help ensure project goals and expectations are met.

Assist with proposals, interviews, and other marketing efforts.

Provide direction, mentorship, and support to junior staff.

Help ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard of design.

Occasionally work onsite at client locations, though the majority of the work will be performed in the firm's Orlando office.

What We're Looking For
  • 8-10+ years of architectural experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Significant experience with Higher Education projects.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and team leadership skills.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, teams, and consultants.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Deltek is a plus, but not required.
  • Registered Architect (RA) license preferred, but not required.
