About the Role

The Architectural Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple commercial architectural projects from preliminary design through construction administration. This role serves as the primary point of coordination between Stiles Architectural Group, clients, internal business units, consultants, contractors, and municipalities, while overseeing project design, documentation, schedules, budgets, and overall execution. The Architectural Project Manager will provide hands-on architectural expertise while directing the work of in-house Project Assistants and coordinating outside consultants to ensure projects are delivered successfully from design through construction.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple architectural projects simultaneously from programming and preliminary design through construction documents and construction administration.
• Serve as the primary architectural point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, municipalities, and other Stiles business units.
• Develop programming and design concepts of varying complexity, including site planning, building design, and interior space planning.
• Lead the development and preparation of construction documents, including hands-on production as needed, while directing and supervising Project Assistants and coordinating the work of consulting engineers.
• Manage project schedules, deliverables, consultant coordination, and overall architectural project execution.
• Provide construction administration services, including field observations, drawing clarifications, shop drawing review, product approvals, permitting issues, and coordination between consultants and contractors.
• Manage the administrative and financial aspects of assigned projects, including project budgets, client contracts and negotiations, consultant agreements, and approval of accounts payable.
• Lead project meetings and presentations with clients, governmental agencies, consultants, contractors, and other Stiles business units.
• Apply a strong working knowledge of Florida zoning, building, life-safety, and other applicable codes throughout the design and construction process.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture (BS, B. Arch, M. Arch) with a minimum of 7 years professional commercial experience; understanding of construction methodologies, detail and structural systems.
• Architectural License (State of Florida registration) a plus.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of architectural design, development of Construction Documents and Construction Administration.
• AutoCAD Release 2014 (minimum) is preferred. BIM/Revit experience desired.
• Must understand construction methodologies and systems and have a basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems in a building.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to combine principles of logic and technical thinking with design practices. Knowledge of building component inter-relationships on a detailed and broad level is required. Problem solving ability and organization is crucial.
• Ability to communicate ideas via graphic presentations, verbally and in written form to clients is essential. Must be personable, presentable and professional.
• Ability to apply creative, insightful thought to create designs which are of high quality not only in technical compliance with design guidelines and building codes, but also creatively effective in accomplishing the goals of the Owner and/or tenants.
