Job summary

Cumming Gallagher, a leading project and cost management consultancy, seeks an Architectural Project Inspector to support facilities management projects in Houston. The role emphasizes quality control, inspection of materials and installations, and liaison among stakeholders during construction.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor’s in construction management or related field, with 2+ years in ICC codes (architectural) and healthcare construction experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, Engineering, Surveying, or related field preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years’ experience with all ICC codes, specifically architectural; 2+ years’ experience with all state specific ICC codes.
• Healthcare construction experience is a must.

Responsibilities

• Inspects materials, installation, and layout of work on the project site and evaluates its acceptability.
• Determines and notifies contractor of unacceptable material or work with the Construction Contracts Manager’s (CCM) approval.
• Serves as liaison between CCM, operations, Owner, and contractor during construction.
• Performs or supervises quality control testing.
• Maintains thorough and accurate records documenting the entire process of the project, which includes daily log for each job, updates from weekly progress meetings, updates from progress meetings with contractors, and all findings during quality control or inspection of the material, work, and job site.
• Verifies quantities for contractors monthly pay estimate.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Attendance at work during normal business hours.

The Architectural Project Inspector position will represent Facilities Management projects providing quality control and inspection expertise in the area of building systems. Specifically, they will work on construction projects to ensure materials and equipment in any phase of manufacture, shop or field fabrication, delivery or installation comply with contract documents. Experience in healthcare construction is a must.

The salary range for this full-time role is $66,600.00-$84,333.34 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
