Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced architect with 4–7 years in an architectural office to lead graphic and BIM workflows in Oakland, CA. You will ensure SERA graphic standards, develop architectural drawings using building codes, and coordinate with clients, vendors, and sub consultants.

Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Bluebeam, and MS Office is required or preferred; strong communication, leadership, and professional judgment are essential to guide teams and deliver

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited program.
  • 4–7 years of industry experience in an architect's office.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office.
  • SketchUp and Bluebeam knowledge preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
  • Ability to determine the right tool for the task.
  • Ability to prioritize and evaluate multiple important tasks.
  • Establish professional judgment and decision-making processes for outcomes.
  • Develop leadership skills to motivate and guide teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to SERA's graphic standards across team members.
  • Create graphic presentations such as design reviews, client presentations, and marketing collateral.
  • Research and coordinate details regarding scopes of work and sub consultants.
  • Work with product vendors/manufacturers to develop architectural details.
  • Coordinate with team members and building systems/components.
  • Perform independent construction contract administration.
  • Supervise 1-3 staff; plan and review their work.
  • Use building codes to develop architectural drawings.
  • Provide code interpretations to support project objectives.
  • Interact with jurisdictions to obtain building permits.
  • Interact with the client to achieve project goals.
  • Handle project contract requirements.
  • Manage the Revit model health and integrity.
  • Develop BIM Execution Plan on assigned projects.
  • Model the firm’s values and commitments for professionalism and collaboration.

Job description

  • Understand and ensure adherence to SERA's graphic standards across team members.
  • Create graphic presentations such as design review, client presentations, and marketing collateral.
  • Research and coordinate details regarding specific scopes of work and/or sub consultants.
  • Work with product vendors/manufacturers to develop architectural details.
  • Coordinate with other team members and building systems/components.
  • Ability to perform independent construction contract administration.
  • Supervise, coordinate, plan, and review the work of 1-3 staff members.
  • Use the building code to develop architectural drawings.
  • Provide code interpretations supporting the project objectives.
  • Support the project by interacting with jurisdictions to obtain building permits.
  • Interact with the client to achieve project goals.
  • Familiarity and adherence to project contract requirements.
  • Handle the health and welfare of the Revit model.
  • Develop, codify, and enforce the BIM Execution Plan on assigned projects.
  • Model the firm’s values and core commitments, ensuring alignment with internal expectations for professionalism, collaboration, and ethical behavior.
Requirements
  • Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited program.
  • Generally have 4-7 years of industry experience in an architect's office.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office Suite required.
  • Knowledge of Sketchup and Bluebeam preferred.
  • Ability to communicate through verbal, written, and graphic communication formats.
  • Ability to determine the right tool for the task.
  • Ability to prioritize and evaluate multiple important tasks.
