Job summary

Rineer Designs LLC in York, PA is seeking an Architectural–Interior Design Technician to join our design studio. This on-site, drafting-focused role supports the President–Director of Design and team by translating concepts into buildable construction documents for residential and commercial projects.

You will develop accurate AutoCAD sets, prepare floor plans and elevations, coordinate with contractors, and ensure code compliance.

Qualifications

• Education or professional training in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
• Experience producing residential architectural or interior construction documents.
• Knowledge of IRC/PA UCC preferred; interior codes (IBC, accessibility, egress, life-safety) desired.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate AutoCAD construction-document sets based on established design direction.
• Prepare existing-condition and proposed floor plans, foundation, roof plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
• Produce interior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, and interior architectural details.
• Develop technical drawings for kitchens, bathrooms, cabinetry, millwork, and interior features.
• Assist with exterior/interior drawings for outdoor living spaces and related features.
• Field measure spaces and document existing conditions.
• Coordinate drawing information with contractors, engineers, and fabricators.
• Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, coordination, and constructability.

Rineer Designs LLC, an award-winning residential and commercial design firm, is seeking an experienced Architectural–Interior Design Technician to join our team at our Design Studio in York, Pennsylvania.

This is a technical, drafting-focused position supporting the President – Director of Design and design team in translating established design concepts into accurate, coordinated, and buildable construction documents.

Our projects include residential renovations, additions, new homes, kitchens and baths, primary suites, whole-home transformations, outdoor living environments, custom cabinetry and millwork, and commercial interiors.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of residential construction, architectural drafting, and interior construction documentation and enjoys the technical side of architecture and interior design.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate AutoCAD construction-document sets based on established design direction.
• Prepare existing-condition and proposed floor plans, foundation plans, roof plans, exterior elevations, building sections, and construction details.
• Produce interior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, and interior architectural details.
• Develop technical drawings for kitchens, bathrooms, custom cabinetry, built-ins, and architectural millwork.
• Assist with drawings for outdoor living environments, including porches, patios, decks, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, pergolas, pavilions, and related exterior architectural features.
• Field measure residential and commercial spaces and accurately document existing conditions.
• Assist with commercial interior construction documents, including applicable accessibility, egress, life-safety, and interior code requirements.
• Coordinate drawing information with contractors, engineers, cabinetmakers, fabricators, and other project professionals.
• Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, coordination, and constructability before issuance.

Qualifications

• Education or professional training in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Architectural Technology, Interior Design, Drafting, Construction Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
• Professional experience producing residential architectural or interior construction documents.
• Working knowledge of residential construction and the IRC; Pennsylvania UCC experience is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of commercial interior codes, IBC, accessibility, egress, and life-safety requirements is preferred.
• Experience with cabinetry and architectural millwork detailing is highly desirable.
• Experience with field measuring and existing-condition documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to independently review work for accuracy.
• SketchUp or 3D modeling experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for project-site visits.

Position Details

This is an on-site position at our York, Pennsylvania Design Studio. Remote work is not available. Some travel to residential and commercial project sites is required for field measurements and project coordination.

We are happy to teach the right candidate Rineer Designs' standards and processes, but this position requires an established understanding of architectural drafting, construction documentation, and how buildings are constructed.
