Job summary

Trileaf Corporation in St. Louis, MO, seeks an Architectural History Specialist (Temp-to-Hire) to support its cultural resources team with architectural resource surveys, archival/SHPO research, and documentation for infrastructure projects.

This entry-level role involves assisting senior staff with Effects Determinations, historic context statements, and field evaluations, with travel around 10% and a hybrid office/field work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural History, Historic Preservation, Architecture, History, Art History, or related field.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience; internship or field school is a plus.
• Valid driver's license.
• Familiarity with SHPO/THPO research and Section 106/NHPA review is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct architectural resource surveys, including field identification, photography, and documentation of buildings, structures, and districts.
• Perform archival research and SHPO file searches to identify previously recorded historic resources.
• Assist in developing project Effects Determinations and historic context statements.
• Prepare Historic Resources tables and supporting documentation for technical reports.
• Travel to project sites (approximately 10% of the time) for field evaluations of effects.
• Coordinate with project managers, senior staff, and outside agencies, and perform QA/QC on deliverables.
• Maintain accurate field notes and project files, and comply with company health and safety protocols.
