Job summary

Professional Engineering Consultants is seeking an Engineering Intern to assist with design on multiple projects, perform standard engineering calculations, and prepare design deliverables using BIM/CAD software and hand calculations.

You will work under a Project Engineer or Design Engineer, performing drafting/modeling, coordinating with staff, and producing construction documents in accordance with codes and criteria; mobility and light lifting are required.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Student entering junior or senior year preferred

Responsibilities

Job description

The Engineering Intern will be responsible for assisting with design on multiple projects, performing standard engineering calculations, and preparing design deliverables for a variety of projects. This position utilizes BIM/CAD software, hand calculations, and computer-based calculations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of a Project Engineer or Design Engineer, performs the following:
• Design calculations by hand and by computer software.
• Drafting/modeling of engineering design.
• Coordination with other design staff.
• Construction document and specification production in compliance with applicable building codes/design criteria.
• Reviews project deliverables for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards.
• Organize project information and files according to corporate standard practices and workflows.
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.

Special Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Ability to workindependently and with others.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Experience with computer aided drafting and modeling using industry accepted software.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.

Education and Experience:

License and Certification:

• Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam preferred
