Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking an Architectural Engineer to provide full-spectrum installation engineering services for Air Force projects, with emphasis on renovation, space planning, and multidisciplinary design review. You will develop construction and repair requirements and support project planning by translating mission needs into technical criteria.

The role requires an undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering or Architecture and 5+ years of relevant experience, with preference for

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or another qualifying discipline that satisfies contract requirements.
Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience; five to ten years preferred.
Experience with existing-facility renovation/repair, multidisciplinary design, federal/DoD facilities, and construction-phase services preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide architectural engineering and facility design support for Air Force projects with emphasis on renovation, space planning, and functional requirements.
Translate customer and mission requirements into clear facility scopes and technical criteria.
Review architectural drawings, specifications, design analyses, submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change requests.
Evaluate accessibility, life-safety, code, constructability, maintainability, and coordination issues per applicable requirements.
Coordinate architectural requirements with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental, planning, and project-management personnel.
