AURA TECHNOLOGIES, LLC (AURA) is an advanced technology, research and development (R&D) company creating game-changing innovations for the US Department of Defense in cutting-edge technology.

AURA has an immediate opening for a full-time,remote CAD Draftsperson [Remote NC/SC Only]to join our dynamic R&D team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful CAD Draftsperson candidate will have hands-on experience with multiple CAD platforms and a strong foundation in producing high-quality technical drawings and schematics. Familiarity with CAD automation, customization, or scripting tools is a plus. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to an innovative machine learning initiative geared toward unlocking information from legacy technical data and drawings.

Tasks Include:

• Create, revise, and maintain 2D and 3D technical drawings, layouts, schematics, and blueprints using a variety of CAD tools.
• Organize and manage CAD files, libraries, layers, templates, and blocks across projects.
• Support the data science and data engineering team in preparing content for ML training.
• Assist in the development of CAD automation scripts, templates, or routines to streamline repetitive tasks and increase productivity.
• Other duties as needed or required

WORK EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education:Certificate, Diploma, or Associate’s Degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related technical field.

Work Experience: 2+ years of experience in a CAD drafting role within an engineering, architecture, or manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in at least two of the following tools: AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Inventor, MicroStation, BricsCAD, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of technical drawing standards, dimensioning, and tolerancing.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawing packages.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with CAD automation, scripting (e.g., AutoLISP, Python for CAD, Dynamo), or plugin development.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and 3D modeling environments
• Knowledge of project lifecycle management tools (e.g., Autodesk Vault, PDM systems).
• Prior DoD or military experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidates must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status
  
• SECURITY CLEARANCE: The successful candidate must already have, or be able to obtain once employed by AURA, a US Government Secret-level clearance. The successful candidate must maintain the clearance during the duration of their employment, which is a requirement of this position. The US Government generally only grants clearances to US citizens who are free from major criminal convictions. Individuals not meeting these two criteria will most likely not be granted a US Government security clearance.
