Job summary

Gensler in Miami seeks an experienced Architectural Designer who can blend creativity with technical rigor to deliver functional, beautiful spaces. You will collaborate with Directors and teams across project phases, mentor colleagues, and contribute to a culture of resilient, innovative design.

The role emphasizes multiple building typologies, state-of-the-art visualization, and high-quality construction documentation. Local relocation to sunny Miami is welcomed as this is an in-office role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 10-15 years of relevant architecture and design experience in commercial design.
  • Experience with multiple building facade and envelope typologies of varying scale.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Suite; Rhino/Grasshopper/SketchUp/3ds Max/V-Ray are a plus.
  • Knowledge of materials, construction techniques and building codes.
  • Conceptual 3D thinking and strong graphic presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects and communicate design ideas quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to architectural deliverables across all project phases from concept to CD and production.
  • Collaborate with design directors, clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to meet project objectives.
  • Develop innovative, practical solutions to complex design issues.
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings.
  • Assist in client management and coordination among teams and consultants.
  • Support office initiatives and professional development within the team.
  • Promote design resilience and continuous learning.
  • Grow design expertise and maintain curiosity and enthusiasm.

Job description

As an Architectural Designer with our dynamic team in Miami your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge to produce functionally beautiful spaces for our clients. What You Will Do
  • Contribute to architectural deliverables on projects, working with Design Director(s) and project team(s) for all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
  • Support and collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
  • Contribute to resolution of complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs
  • Advance the understanding that design resilience is a responsibility of every person at Gensler
  • Cultivate design expertise with the desire to always learn, grow, and evolve
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • 10-15 years of relevant architecture and design experience within a commercial design firm
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with multiple building facade and envelope typologies of varying scale, including commercial office and mixed-use buildings, sports and entertainment venues, workplace interiors and repositioning projects
  • Must be proficient in Revit and the Adobe Suite. Proficiency with Rhino, Grasshopper, Parametric Modeling, Sketch-up, 3D Studio Max and VRay is a plus.
  • Knowledge of materials, construction techniques and building codes and the design process
  • Conceptual 3-dimensional thinking skills and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
  • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quicklyA quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Creativity Initiator that brings curiosity, enthusiasm and a "can do" attitude
  • Organization, communication, and relationship building skills
  • Licensed / Registered Architect
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
