Job summary

Signtech is seeking an Architectural Designer / Production Artist with a strong architectural background and proficiency in CorelDRAW to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment in San Diego. The role involves creating detailed electrical sign designs, reading architectural plans, and collaborating with engineering, fabrication, and production teams to bring concepts to finished installations.

No sign-industry experience is required; training will be provided on sign-design standards,

Qualifications

• Read and understand architectural blueprints and construction drawings.
• Graphic Design software familiarity (CorelDRAW preferred).
• Experience reading architectural elevations, sections, details, and technical drawings.
• Strong layout, typography, and graphic-design skills.
• Image and photo-retouching experience.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Typing speed of 30–35 words per minute.
• Positive attitude and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret architectural plans, blueprints, elevations, and construction documents.
• Create detailed electrical sign design drawings, elevations, sections, layouts, and production artwork.
• Use CorelDRAW to prepare accurate, production-ready design files.
• Retouch, manipulate, and enhance photographs and digital images.
• Review drawings, dimensions, specifications, and artwork for accuracy.
• Work closely with project management, engineering, fabrication, and production teams.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a friendly, fast-paced environment.
• Learn electrical sign-design standards, fabrication methods, materials, and installation requirements.
