Job summary

Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, is seeking an Architecture Designer — an entry-level role supporting project teams under a Registered Architect. You’ll work on small to moderate projects, applying standard architectural principles while developing technical skills and design judgment under supervision.

Responsibilities include creating drawings and models with BIM, coordinating design docs, and assisting with specifications. Travel to project sites may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an NAAB accredited Architecture program.
• 0-5 years of experience.
• Experience with computer-assisted design and graphic software such as Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, etc.

Responsibilities

• Use architectural design, modeling, and graphic software (Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe CC) to develop drawings and visualizations under supervision.
• Assist teams in applying BIM to develop coordinated designs and documentation.
• Prepare architectural drawings, details, and construction docs with increasing accuracy and independence.
• Assist in preparing architectural specifications and coordinate with construction documents.
• Research building codes, zoning, and sustainability requirements for design alignment.
• Summarize code requirements to inform design decisions and documentation.
• Develop client presentation materials and participate in meetings; support documentation and follow-up tasks.
• Engage in professional development to build technical expertise and leadership within the firm.
• Travel to JMT locations and project sites as needed.

Position Summary

The Architecture Designer is an entry‑level architectural professional who supports project teams under the direction of a Registered Architect. The role contributes to projects of small to moderate size and complexity and may assist on portions of larger projects. Responsibilities include applying standard architectural principles, methods, and procedures while building knowledge of conventional architectural practice.

This position is designed for an emerging professional who develops technical skills, design judgment, and independence while actively contributing to project teams.

Compensation

Compensation for this position is $33.70 - $38.50/hr, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Utilize architectural design, modeling, and graphic software, including Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Creative Cloud, and similar applications to develop drawings, models, and visualizations, in support of project deliverables under the guidance of senior staff.
• Assist project teams in applying Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms to develop coordinated design and documentation deliverables appropriate to project scope and complexity.
• Prepare architectural drawings, details, and construction documentation in accordance with established drafting, detailing, and documentation standards, with increasing accuracy and independence over time for small projects or assigned portions of larger projects.
• Assist in preparing architectural specifications and coordinating them with construction documents.
• Support project teams in researching and applying applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability requirements to ensure compliance and alignment with project goals.
• Conduct basic code research and assist in summarizing requirements that inform design decisions and documentation.
• Assist in the development of client presentation materials, participate in internal and external meetings as appropriate, and support meeting documentation and follow‑up tasks.
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities and demonstrate a commitment to building technical expertise, leadership skills, and professional growth within the firm.
• Travel to JMT locations and project sites is required as needed.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an NAAB accredited Architecture program
• 0-5 years of experience
• Experience with computer-assisted design and graphic software such as Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, etc.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel

Qualifications Preferred

• Actively pursuing Professional Architect License
• Previous experience in architectural practice.
• Familiar with Building Information Modeling
• Familiar with architectural drafting, detail, and documentation standards
• Basic understanding of architectural specifications and construction document coordination

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
