Position Overview

The Architectural Designer / Architect I will support project teams through all phases of design and documentation, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. This role works closely with Project Managers and senior architects to deliver high-quality, code-compliant design solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exercise independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and use of standard techniques, solves problems when encountered, and receives guidance on complex projects, or unique applications.
  • Competent in all conventional aspects of architecture.
  • Perform work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Independently solves problems encountered.
  • Work with the Project Manager to maintain project schedules and budgets. Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating staff assignments on small-scale projects.
  • Provide QA/QC reviews during the project production on small-size projects and is responsible for ensuring projects follow all current building codes and regulations.
  • May serve as the PM on certain projects.
  • Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex issues, and supervisory approval on proposed project plans.
  • Plan and develops various sized projects with many complexities, executes and coordinates project production internally as well as coordinates with other disciplines and sub-consultants.
  • Provide oversight and monitoring of the work of less experienced Staff.
  • Some project-related travel may be required.
Qualifications:
  • 2 to 5+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in architecture from an accredited program.
  • Licensed architect preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Working knowledge of building code and other design standards as well as an interest in developing and maintaining quality drawings, and efficiencies within the office.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of the design/production and construction process.
