Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Architectural Designer in Hawthorne, CA to translate engineering and production needs into executable plans and manage campus drawings. You will work with elite engineers to design infrastructure supporting orbital launch capabilities, and you will update building drawings as needed.

Responsibilities include creating layouts, assisting bids, producing as-built documentation, and coordinating with design consultants. Relocation may be required for non-local candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• 3+ years of experience creating architectural construction documents including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD and Revu Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify preliminary equipment layouts based on customer input.
• Produce documents to assist with securing construction contractor bids.
• Create as-built documents for projects after completion of construction.
• Integrate 3rd party vendor drawings into existing building drawing sets.
• Convert files from Teamcenter, Sketch-up, Revu Bluebeam, PDF, or others into Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform feasibility assessments from architectural, fire/life safety, structural, and MEP viewpoints.
• Provide baseline preconstruction services, including preliminary budgets and schedules.
• Coordinate permit acquisition/closeout with the City of Hawthorne.
