Job summary

Lawrence Group, a building design, development, and project delivery firm based in St. Louis, is seeking design professionals to join the healthcare projects team in our St. Louis office.

You will gain hands-on experience from concept to construction documentation under the guidance of senior architects and designers. The role involves supporting design concepts, preparing renderings and 3-D models, coordinating with engineers and contractors, and producing drawings with AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare design and architecture, with coursework, internships, or relevant experience in the field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Proficiency in Enscape, Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and InDesign a plus.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills, with the ability to communicate design ideas effectively through drawings, renderings, and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior architects and project managers in the planning and design of healthcare projects, including hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and specialized healthcare facilities.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing project requirements, site conditions, and regulatory constraints.
  • Contribute to the development of design concepts and schematic drawings, incorporating evidence‑based design principles and client feedback.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials, including renderings, diagrams, and 3‑D models, to communicate design ideas effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, consultants, and contractors, to integrate technical requirements and ensure design feasibility.
  • Produce architectural drawings, plans, and elevations using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software, following established standards and protocols.
  • Conduct research on materials, products, and building systems to support design decisions and enhance project sustainability.
  • Assist in the coordination of project documentation, including specifications, schedules, and construction details, to ensure accuracy and compliance with building codes and industry standards.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections during construction phases to observe progress, address field issues, and assist with quality assurance.
  • Stay informed about current trends, technologies, and best practices in healthcare design and architecture, and contribute ideas for innovation and improvement.

Position Overview

Lawrence Group is seeking design professionals to assist with healthcare projects in our St. Louis office.

This position offers hands‑on experience in all aspects of healthcare architecture, from conceptualization to construction documentation, under the guidance of senior architects and designers.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare design and architecture, with coursework, internships, or relevant experience in the field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Proficiency in Enscape, Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and InDesign a plus.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills, with the ability to communicate design ideas effectively through drawings, renderings, and presentations.
  • Knowledge of basic architectural principles, building materials, and construction techniques.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and professional development, with a proactive approach to seeking feedback and expanding technical skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., FGI Guidelines, ADA requirements) is a plus.
  • Desire to become a licensed architect is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibility.

This job operates in a professional office environment with hybrid schedule capability.

Physical Demands: This position requires no minimum ability to lift, bend or stand.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full‑time position with typical Monday‑Friday work schedule.

Travel: Moderate travel is expected for this position.
