Job summary

James Perse Enterprises, based in Marina Del Rey, CA, is seeking an Architectural Design Associate to join the in-house design team. You will support architectural and furniture design efforts, coordinate with facilities and consultants, and help manage vendor relationships and budgets.

The role requires 0–2 years of experience and proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong design sensibility and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Architecture or Interior Architecture/Design program.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• 0–2 years of relevant work experience; retail experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all phases of design projects, from construction through opening.
• Coordinate with facilities, maintenance, and other teams.
• Manage vendors, budgets, and RFPs.
• Develop and maintain SketchUp models and draft architectural drawings.
• Maintain materials library and assist with project files and plotting.

WE ARE CURRENTLY HIRING AT OUR CORPORATE IN MARINA DEL REY

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION

The Architectural Design Associate will work as an integral part of the in-house Architectural Design Team and support the Furniture Design Team as needed. The candidate should be a team player with strong design sensibility and excellent communication skills. In addition, the candidate should be thorough, detail-oriented, and have the ability to oversee multiple short and long-term tasks to completion.

Essential Duties And Job Responsibilities

• Assist in all phases of design projects, construction through opening and beyond
• Partner with teams with any elements of physical environments of existing locations, including but not limited to facilities and maintenance
• Manage business vendors related to buildings, facilities, appliances, finishes, installations, repairs, maintenance, etc
• Manage RFP's and present options to the team, help ensure timely follow up takes place
• Track all scheduling with vendors and maintain calendar
• Assist in obtaining proper budgetary approvals for any projects involving external vendors
• Assist the team in communications and follow up with consultants and vendors
• Assist in developing and maintaining SketchUp models, used as a tool in the design development process
• Drafting of architectural drawings and details
• Maintain materials and samples library and obtain new samples for new materials research
• Contribute to daily administration tasks o various projects such as organizing and creating new project files, downloading, uploading, and/or sending files, maintaining printed drawing sets for office use, plotting and printing drawings, etc

Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience

Education

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Architecture or Interior Architecture/Design program

Special Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
• V-Ray experience is a plus

Work Experience

• 0 - 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably working in all phases of design
• Retail experience is a plus

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary for this position is $28.00 hourly.
