Job summary

MBP is seeking an Architectural Construction Manager in the Columbia, MD area to lead on-site owner representation for medium to large construction projects. Candidates should have extensive experience in quality assurance and control, with the ability to manage cost, schedule and quality for complex buildings, labs, data centers, or secure facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 10+ years of related experience.
• Associate's degree with 8+ years of related experience/education.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field with 5+ years of related experience.
• OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in regional construction work.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and contract specifications.

Responsibilities

• Represent client on-site, providing quality assurance, documentation, cost control, and time management-related services.
• Work with the project delivery team to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate, monitor, and manage inspection activities.
• Verify construction aligns with contract plans, specs, and shop drawings.
• Prepare detailed daily reports documenting work performed.
• Document and track issues/non-conformance until corrected.
• Coordinate submittals and RFIs; participate in project meetings.
• Communicate professionally with Owner, Contractor, Designer, MBP team.
