Job summary

The Port of San Francisco is seeking an Architectural Associate II to join the Engineering Division, under the supervision of the Port Senior Architect. You will contribute to design development, cost estimates, specifications, and field coordination for diverse facilities along the waterfront.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field, six years of progressively responsible experience, and a California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the architectural field, including architectural design, detailing, analysis, cost analysis, specification preparation, coordination and review, construction administration and field observation.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license (to be presented at time of appointment).
• Applicants must meet minimum qualification requirements by the final filing date and may be asked to verify education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and coordinates designs of entire projects in collaboration with all relevant disciplines.
• Prepares preliminary and final architectural contract documents including construction details and specifications.
• Reviews and comments on design documents for conformance with codes and project requirements.
• Assists with checking and reviewing in-house design work and consultant work.
• Prepares or coordinates construction cost estimates, budgets and schedules.
• Participates in interior space planning and selection of building materials.
