Job description

This role is open to remote. But must be local to the Dallas metro area for one off meetings.

We are seeking a seasoned IT Solution Architect to lead the design, delivery, and support of Warehouse and Distribution technology solutions that power high-volume Distribution Center (DC) operations.

This role partners closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to deliver stable, scalable, and compliant SAP-based solutions across the full lifecycle — from requirements discovery through production support. The ideal candidate brings deep SAP execution expertise and strong leadership across end-to-end warehouse processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate complex business requirements into sustainable SAP solution designs leveraging standard functionality, custom development, and third-party integrations as appropriate
• Lead requirements workshops, document functional specifications, and drive fit-gap analysis
• Own solution delivery across the lifecycle: design, build oversight, testing (Unit/SIT/UAT), cutover, go-live, and hypercare
• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies ensuring end-to-end process integrity
• Review and approve solution designs; identify opportunities to reduce complexity and improve operational performance
• Lead process analysis and re-engineering initiatives tied to measurable business outcomes
• Partner with business stakeholders on change management, adoption planning, and risk mitigation
• Provide production support, drive root cause analysis, and eliminate recurring issues
• Ensure compliance with change management, SOX controls, and cybersecurity standards
• Establish architectural standards and best practices aligned with enterprise principles
• Coordinate across IT teams, vendors, and managed service partners (onshore/offshore) to meet delivery timelines

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of SAP experience (ECC and/or S/4HANA)
• Deep expertise supporting Warehouse and Distribution execution in high-volume environments
• Strong ownership of end-to-end SAP process design and fit-gap decision making

SAP Functional Expertise

Hands-on design, configuration, and support experience across:

• MM – Procurement touchpoints, inbound execution, material/vendor master impacts
• IM – Goods movements, inventory adjustments, cycle counting, stock controls
• WM – Bin management, putaway/picking strategies, transfer orders, RF processes
• SD – Order-to-delivery execution touchpoints, shipping relevance
• LE-Shipping – Delivery processing, picking, packing, staging, PGI

SAP EWM experience is a strong plus.

Technical & Integration Experience

• Warehouse-related integrations (IDoc, API, EDI, middleware)
• 3PL systems, carrier/parcel integrations
• RF/voice picking solutions
• Route planning and warehouse automation/WCS integrations
• End-to-end troubleshooting across SAP and external platforms
