Job summary

Bloomberg Industry Group is seeking an experienced software engineering leader to mentor teams, shape architecture, and deliver scalable services across multiple domains. You will influence best practices, drive DevSecOps, and partner with product teams to estimate effort and optimize outcomes.

The role demands extensive SDLC experience, strong JavaScript/Node.js/Java/Python skills, and cloud-native capabilities (AWS, serverless, microservices). A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is expected.

• Track record influencing full SDLC in distributed delivery teams using Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps.

What you will do:

• Provide management, coaching and mentorship to those who report to this role to maximize team health, product delivery, effectiveness, and career growth.
• Deliver and present solutions for large initiatives across multipleverticals.
• Design, develop scalable, high availability, high performanceproductswith a deep understanding of front end and back-end architectures.
• Shape broad architecture; ships multiple large services, complex libraries, or major pieces of infrastructure.
• Directly architect, design and deliver high-quality codeand ensure high standards of technical development are adhered by your team including observability, stability, scalability, security, performance, and cost effectiveness.
• Shape broad architecture; ships multiple large services, complex libraries, or major pieces of infrastructure and influence best practices across teams.
• Workwith product teamto estimate level of effort for projects and evaluate tradeoffs to ensure maximum impact with team resources.
• Guide the team on modern software development best practices and technical direction while providing hands‑on development and problem-solving assistance.
• Successfully manage projects and collaborate with partners and stakeholders to deliver value to the business.
• Help foster an inclusive environment where our culture is a strength in delivering results for our customers, our team, and our business.
• Leadspecial projects and perform other duties as assigned.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of software development experience and/or commensurate skills building commercial applications with modern software engineering practices.
• Team leadership experience and strong interpersonal skills.
• Experiencereducingthe complexity of projects, services, and processestoget more done with less work.
• A track record of being a strong influencer and thought leader in thefull software development life cycle of distributed software delivery teams using Agile/Scrum andDevSecOpspractices.
• Demonstrated experienceof cloud technologiesi.e.AWS, Serverless, Event DrivenArchitecture, SOA,MicroServices,Microfrontend, CI/CD, Infrastructure as code, and other modern technologies.
• Demonstrated expertise with JavaScript, Node.js, Java or Python, and frameworks such as React or VUE.js.
• Demonstrated experienceof professional software engineering practices and the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, architecture/design patterns, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Compensation Range:

$175,000.00-$220,000.00

Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process. Salary determination will be determined based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, demonstrated skills related to the requirements of the role, education, certifications, and geographic location.
