BSA’s St. Louis studio seeks an Architect to shape environments that support healing, learning, and discovery.

You’ll work with a senior architect to deliver projects, translate complex program requirements into inspiring design, and oversee design documentation to ensure clarity and alignment with the project vision. With 10+ years of experience and a strong sustainability mindset, you’ll influence project outcomes while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
  • Registered Architect with current NCARB certification.
  • 10+ years of architectural experience, preferably in healing/learning environments.
  • Experience managing scope, budget and schedule across project sizes.
  • Knowledge of sustainability strategies and rating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design teams and coordinate with senior architects on project delivery.
  • Translate client needs into innovative, functional design solutions.
  • Oversee preparation of design documentation and project detailing.
  • Coordinate across disciplines to align with project vision and timelines.
  • Mentor emerging architects and share design thinking insights.
  • Participate in reviews and lead design discussions to elevate quality.

Job DescriptionJob Description

BSA is seeking an Architect to join our St. Louis studio. In this role, you will take a leading hand in shaping environments that support healing, learning, and discovery. You will contribute to impactful projects where design excellence and purpose go hand in hand.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with Senior Architect to deliver projects.
  • Architectural design and planning process on projects. Assist in client engagement through all processes and tools.
  • Translate complex programmatic and client needs into innovative, functional, and inspiring design solutions.
  • Oversee the preparation of design documentation, ensuring clarity and alignment throughout while aligning conceptual design objectives with project specific detailing.
  • Coordinate and support the architectural design delivery process across all disciplines ensuring all team members are working in coordination with the project vision
  • Participate in project reviews and lead design discussions that elevate the quality of work.
  • Balance creativity with project constraints, including scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Mentor emerging architects and share insights around design thinking and project storytelling.
  • Engage in lessons learned reviews to continuously improve design outcomes.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture.
  • Licensure: Registered Architect with current registration. NCARB certification .
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of architectural experience. Prior work in healing, learning, or discovery environments . Focus in more detail on the horizontal nature of a project.
    • Experience on all sizes of projects .
    • Manage project specific, scope, budget, and schedule.
    • A point of view on the future of architecture and awareness of current trends and innovation.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of sustainability strategies and associated rating systems.
  • Computer Skills: Microsd; Architecture CAD, Revit, Sketchup, Bluebeam; Graphic Software: InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and other transformative design tools.oft Teams environment, including Co-Pilot, Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Large Models (LLM's), familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint .
