Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced architect in the United States to join a multi-disciplinary team on a major Mayo Clinic healthcare project. The role emphasizes design and technical leadership across project phases, including REVIT modeling, detailing and coordination.

Requirements include a Bachelor degree in a relevant field, US architectural registration, and 4+ years of experience with a strong design portfolio and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • Current Architectural Registration in the United States required.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Independently contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, coordinate, and detail projects.
  • Prepare design and presentation materials using Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch-Up, and related tools.
  • Develop and manage REVIT models to produce plans, elevations, and sections.
  • Create preliminary site plan sketches for small to moderate projects.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to align project documents.
  • Assist in developing design and concept drawings.
  • Coordinate engineering systems with engineers.
  • May take a leadership role on project issues.
  • Review shop drawings with guidance from the Project Architect.
  • Attend field inspections and project team meetings.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position will have a design/technical focus and be a member of our multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with design and technical leadership and will be an integral part of project teams. Your initial assignment will be on a 2.0+ million square foot healthcare facility at Mayo Clinic's campus.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Independently and under limited direction, contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary team; design, selection, coordination and architectural detailing.
  • Prepare and contribute to design and presentation efforts utilizing Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch-Up, and other programs as required.
  • Independently develop and manage the REVIT model to produce plans, elevations, and sections. With limited direction, produce REVIT section and plan details within all architectural phases.
  • Prepare preliminary design sketches of small to moderate-sized site plans.
  • Communicate with other disciplines to ensure coordination of project documents.
  • Assist in the development of design and concept drawings.
  • Assist in coordination of engineering systems with engineers.
  • May take on a leadership role within the team on a particular project issue or topic.
  • Review shop drawing submittals with some guidance from the Project Architect.
  • May attend field site inspections, which frequently involves a physical walk-through of the site.
  • Attend and actively participate in project team meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in a relevant field required.
  • Minimum 4 years of related professional experience required.
  • Current Architectural Registration in the United States required.
  • Must be able to participate the development of projects' technical or design characteristics and content.
  • Strong creative design portfolio is essential as are strong communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Professional business attire is required for all client meetings. Examples of professional business attire include suits, ties, collared dress shirts, dresses, and skirts.
  • Travel required.

The salary range for this position is $64,165 to $80,155 annually. This is the anticipated salary range at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on candidate's geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
