Job summary

Cooper Carry is seeking an Architect I to assist in the technical design aspects of projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendations. Under the Project Architect or Manager, you will contribute to high-quality design and documentation, while working independently on multiple design aspects.

The role emphasizes strong knowledge of building systems, codes, and construction methods, with travel to sites or offices as needed to support project success and firm-wide quality.

Qualifications

• Registered Architect.
• 3–5+ years’ experience in a related field.
• Graduate of an accredited architectural program with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• Strong understanding of building systems and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Cooper Carry and Client guidelines and meet deadlines within budget for each project.
• Maintain knowledge of Cooper Carry projects and resources.
• Demonstrate architectural skills including drawing, rendering, and presentation using internal resources.
• Prepare and produce drawings, design and construction documents.
• Travel to project site or design office as required to facilitate design and construction.

JOB SUMMARY: The Architect I is responsible for assisting in the technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions. Under the direction of the Project Architect or Project Manager, the Architect is competent in all conventional aspects of architecture and the production of high-quality project design, as well as documentation on time and within budget. Is able to perform work independently on multiple aspects of architectural design.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Adhere to Cooper Carry and the Client guidelines and meets deadlines within budget for each project.
• Maintain knowledge of Cooper Carry projects and resources.
• Demonstrate architectural skills to include drawing, rendering, visual and presentation skills utilizing internal resources.
• Performs analyses of design, planning, and occupancy studies, and limited design layouts.
• Communicate with team, clients and consultant/contractor representatives effectively.
• Demonstrate competency with required computer software to produce complete high-quality drawings.
• Assist Project Architect in coordinating necessary tasks for a variety of projects.
• Ensure accuracy and completion of all project related assignments.
• Prepare and produce drawings, design and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of building systems, codes, and construction methods.
• Promote a collaborative team environment.
• Complete research as needed.
• Participates as appropriate in contract administration.
• Travel to Project Job Site or Design Office as required to facilitate design and construction under the direction of the Project Architect.
• Contribute as required to the overall quality and success of the project, studio and firm.
• Reviews and assists with reports and specifications Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered Architect
• 3-5+ years’ experience in related field
• Graduate of an accredited architectural program with Bachelor’s or Master’s level degree
• Strong understanding of building systems and documentation

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
