Job summary

WSP in the U.S. seeks an Architect/Architectural Designer to join the Industrial Center within the Property and Buildings team, with seats in Boise, Minneapolis, or Atlanta.

You will contribute technical expertise across planning, concept design, documentation, and implementation while collaborating with engineers, architects, and project managers to create functional, sustainable building solutions for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, or equivalent experience required.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in the learned discipline.
• Proficient knowledge of architectural principles, practices, process, and application to project work-related issues.
• Experience with building planning, drawing standards, design, and construction management; involvement in restorative and new design projects.
• Strong creative, visualization, and technical drawing skills.
• Knowledge of sustainability, green design, and reducing hazardous substances/greenhouse gas.
• Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings showing external and internal appearance and structure of building projects.
• Collect and analyze data from sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and environmental information for design development.
• Conduct research and inspections of site conditions to ensure compliance with rules and permits.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; coordinate with owners and consultants.
• Incorporate advanced modeling techniques and design requirements for safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and other professionals on multiple projects.
