Job summary

Teradata Corporation (SE) is seeking a senior data plane architect to own the PostgreSQL-based data plane architecture, storage model, and extensions. You will lead the Technical PoC, select workloads, define success criteria, and drive architecture decisions with cross-team collaboration.

You will mentor senior engineers, define integration with Teradata Fabric and Context Engine, and ensure production-ready, scalable designs for agentic workloads.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PostgreSQL expertise, source-level knowledge and MVCC, WAL, and extension APIs.
• Experience navigating and modifying large C codebases.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for data plane and Go/Python/Ruby for control plane tooling.
• Understanding storage engine trade-offs (B-tree vs LSM, page-based vs log-structured).

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end data plane architecture for Agentic Database and related integration points.
• Lead the Technical PoC, design test harness, and define success criteria.
• Review designs, mentor engineers, and ensure long-term maintainability over velocity.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and infra teams to deliver a scalable base.
