Job summary

W|A Associates, Inc, a small architectural firm in downtown San Rafael, seeks an architect with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD. You will contribute to design development, construction documents, and site visits, working under a Principal and collaborating with a project team.

The role emphasizes coordination across project phases, building code research, and effective communication within a supportive, growth‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

W|A Associates, Inc is a small architectural firm located in downtown San Rafael serving clients throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Our diverse project portfolio includes multi-family residential rehabilitation projects, single-family home renovations, building code content development, custom homes, and commercial tenant improvements.

Position Description

Reporting directly to one of the firm’s Principals, this position offers valuable hands‑on experience across a variety of project types, and an opportunity to work under the supervision and mentorship of a Senior Architect. Responsibilities will primarily focus on technical and project‑related tasks including:

• Design Development and Construction Document production
• Site visits and field observations
• Building code and project‑related research
• Coordination and support throughout various phases of project delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent professional experience
• Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD is preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with graphic design, 3D modeling, and presentation software
