Job summary

BigWAHA Architects in Annapolis, MD is seeking job captains, project architects, or managers with 3-8 years of professional experience to join our growing team. The role partners with project leadership and requires fluency in Revit; AutoCAD and SketchUp are also used within the design process.

Candidates should have an architecture or interior design degree, strong graphic presentation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects from programming through construction documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• 3-8 years experience (USA).
• Fluency with Revit is required.
• Graphic presentation skills with knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and SketchUp is preferred.
• Familiarity with the design process, including the preparation of construction documents.
• Flexibility to work on a variety of project types.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages of development.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with project teams.
• Excellent communication skills (design ideas, written, verbal).
• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with various sized project teams, including outside consultants and engineers.
• Strong communication and client relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and collaborate on all phases of interior design assignments including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, construction documentation and construction administration.
• Assist with the development of design concepts and provide graphic and visualization tools for client presentations. Actively participate in client design reviews and presentations.
• Research manufacturers and participate in the selection and presentation of building materials, fixtures, equipment, finishes, color palettes, artwork and lighting.
• Prepare floor plans, building elevations and sections, interior elevations and details, reflected ceiling plans, millwork design and drawings, interior layouts, finish plans, and schedules.
• Assist in the construction administration phase of projects and review of submittals, finish samples, sketches, and shop drawings.
• Collaborate with consultants, engineers, interior designers, and the architectural team.
