ELOS is currently and continually seeking qualified applicants for Archaeological Field Technician positions to support ongoing and upcoming projects throughout the state.
Job Description:
ELOS Environmental, an Aventia Company, is looking to add a motivated Archaeological Field Technician to our team who has a proven technical background in cultural resources. This position involves providing cultural resources support for planning, engineering, and construction services to government, military, and commercial clients throughout the Southeastern United States, primarily in Louisiana. All work will be conducted under the guidance of senior cultural resources staff. At ELOS, Archaeological Field Technicians work on projects that require compliance with federal and state regulations, including the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and the Native American Graves Repatriation and Protection Act (NAGPRA). The Archaeological Field Technician will be responsible for working on all aspects of cultural resources projects. These include, but are not limited to: background research; fieldwork (Phase I survey, Phase II testing, and Phase III mitigation); assisting with NEPA and NHPA technical reports; evaluating properties for eligibility for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP); and completing site survey forms. The applicant must be organized, capable of performing physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions, and will be required to travel locally. This job will require 25% fieldwork to collect data and 75% office work to process data, write reports, and work with the project manager to complete other required tasks.
