Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking Archaeological Field Directors for the Western Plains and Front Range. Lead large field crews across multiple states, coordinating survey, data collection, and reporting for DoD and other federal contracts. Field season typically May–October; part-time/on-call hourly role with advancement opportunities.

Candidates should have ARAM experience and strong leadership, with ESRI GIS proficiency and familiarity with federal cultural resource regulations. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in archaeology, anthropology or related field required.
• MA in Anthropology/Archaeology with North American focus preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in Cultural Resource Management; 2+ years supervisory.
• Archaeological experience in the Front Range or Great Plains required.
• Experience writing NRHP site evaluations and site management forms and QA/QC familiarity.
• Experience with federal clients and DoD CR regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support field projects: survey planning/execution, data collection, reporting, site inventory, monitoring.
• Oversee accurate recording of sites: GPS mapping, testing, data recovery, QA/QC.
• Coordinate and supervise crew chiefs; may lead a field crew.
• Report daily work to project managers and interface with leadership.
• Prepare NRHP evaluations and site management forms.
