Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an Archaeological Field Technician to support Federal NEPA, NHPA, and Environmental Compliance projects across the Great Plains and Front Range. You will conduct field inventory, screening, shovel tests, and data collection while coordinating with field crews.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology and field school or equivalent experience, with willingness to travel across multiple states and work in remote areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology/Archaeology with a North American focus is required.
• Completion of an archaeological field school or at least 2 years of North American cultural resource management experience is required.
• Prior experience conducting pedestrian surveys in the Great Plains is preferred.
• Direct experience with government agencies, DoD cultural resource regulations and projects, and the Air Force is highly desired.
• Experience with GIS data collection and software is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Support field projects with data collection, field inventory, monitoring, and site mitigation across multiple states.
• Record archaeological sites and collect field data for technical reports.
• Collaborate with tribal cultural specialists to record culturally significant sites.
• Report daily activities to crew chiefs and project management.
• Coordinate with field directors and crew chiefs to complete tasks.
