Job summary

Kiewit seeks an Environmental Compliance Specialist with a strong background in SWPPP development, permitting (404/401), and field operations. The role supports projects across the East Coast and Texas, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations while leveraging ArcGIS and Field Maps for spatial data interpretation.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of permitting experience, excellent technical writing skills, and willingness to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of environmental permitting or fieldwork experience.
• Experience with SWPPP development and NPDES construction stormwater permitting.
• Strong technical writing skills and permit applications experience.
• Knowledge of Clean Water Act 404/401 permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage SWPPP implementation and compliance for construction projects.
• Use ArcGIS Field Maps to support environmental planning and compliance tracking.
• Conduct field inspections to ensure environmental compliance.
• Identify sensitive environmental areas and coordinate with teams to minimize impacts.
• Provide environmental training and guidance to project teams.
• Liaise with regulators and clients to communicate permitting requirements and status.
• Maintain accurate records of environmental data, inspections, and communications.
