Job summary

SAIC is seeking a GIS Administration Cloud Engineer to support federal geospatial cloud-hosting clients in AWS, delivering high-availability ArcGIS Enterprise platforms across Windows, Linux and Kubernetes. You will provide technical leadership, installation, patching, security, and automation of cloud infrastructure using IaC and CI/CD.

The role requires 5+ years of ArcGIS Enterprise administration, multi-cloud experience, Kubernetes, and strong collaboration in a ticket-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, GIS, Engineering, or related field; or 4 additional years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years administering ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise in production, including ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Data Store, and related components.
• Administration on both Windows and Linux.
• 3+ years as a Cloud Engineer with at least one major provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• 2+ years with Kubernetes (production) including cluster configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, ARM) and production IaC solutions.
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with Jira or ServiceNow in ticket-based support environments.
• Strong understanding of network fundamentals for cloud-hosted applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and optimize ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise on Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes in cloud-hosted environments.
• Support ArcGIS Enterprise architectures on EC2 and containerized (Kubernetes) deployments.
• Handle requests, incidents, and changes in a ticket-driven support model (e.g., Jira).
• Serve as technical lead for cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and maintenance in AWS, Azure, or other clouds.
• Design and maintain IaC solutions for automated provisioning and configuration of GIS components.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for ArcGIS Enterprise configurations, extensions, and infrastructure.
• Support ArcGIS for Kubernetes deployments, including cluster configuration, scaling, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with security teams to meet federal security and compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across application, OS, network, and cloud layers; perform root cause analysis.
• Create and maintain documentation and runbooks; gather requirements and implement changes under change control.
• Participate in on-call or after-hours maintenance windows.
