Job summary

Mercer University in Macon is seeking an ARC Supplemental Instruction Mentor to support, train, and encourage SI leaders. You will participate in SI training, observe sessions, and prepare reports while collaborating with the supervisor throughout the semester.

The role emphasizes strong communication, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in student success; prior SI/tutoring is helpful but not required. This on-campus position runs during the academic year.

Qualifications

• Must have sophomore standing or higher.
• Minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
• Referral from Mercer faculty required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Prior SI leader or tutoring experience is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Attend SI training meetings.
• Conduct SI session observations.
• Complete SI observation reports.
• Meet with the SI supervisor throughout the semester.
• Establish rapport with assigned SI leaders and confer with them to review observed performance.
• Assist in the preparation of SI training materials.
