Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead our store operations with a focus on customer service and teamwork.

In this role you will collaborate with the Store Manager to schedule staff, manage payroll, meet sales and budget goals, keep the store well stocked and visually appealing, and participate in hiring, training, and staff evaluations to drive a positive, efficient workplace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience in sales preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Duties include working with the Store Manager to create a pleasant, hospitable work environment, maintain excellent customer service, and hold staff accountable for policies and procedures.
• Assist the Store Manager in scheduling of Sales Associates, payroll, meeting sales, production, and expense budget goals to maintain a profitable operation, ensure the store is well stocked and displays are proper on the sales floor.
• Receive applications, participate in interviewing as needed, assist in training, direction and supervision of personnel, and assist with regular evaluations of store personnel to identify performance strengths and areas for development.

Responsibilities

• The Assistant Store Manager will assist the Store Manager in scheduling of Sales Associates, completion of payroll, meeting sales, production, and expense budget goals to maintain a profitable operation, and ensure that the store is well stocked and all production is properly displayed on the sales floor.
• The Assistant Store Manager will also receive applications, participate in interviewing as needed, assist in training, direction and supervision of personnel, and assist with regular evaluations of store personnel to identify performance strengths and areas for development.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will preferably have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus an ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to motive a team.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience in sales preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
