What you’ll do as a Trimmer Trainee at Lewis:
- Participate in an innovative climbing skills training program
- Be part of a team working in a collaborative environment
- Perform line clearing and tree trimming duties, including pruning, removal, and debris cleanup
- Climb trees for manual trimming and removals near power lines
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
- Safeguard employees and the public, and help enforce safety practices
What you’ll need:
- At least six months experience as a ground crew member or equivalent working around utility wires
- Ability to perform physical labor, lifting at least 50 lbs
- Ability to operate equipment and endure extreme climate conditions
- Willing to obtain necessary training, certifications, and licenses
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications
- Pass pre-employment drug and skills tests
- Valid Driver’s License
