Job summary

Lucas Tree Experts is seeking Arborist Trainees in Lexington, VA for full-time, year-round outdoor work. No prior tree industry experience required; we provide free on-the-job training and will sponsor licensing and certifications to advance your career.

You’ll assist with vegetation management, equipment operation, pruning, and removals, with wage advancement as you gain credentials. Expect 45-hour weeks, outdoor conditions, and a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 45 hours weekly.
• Must be 18+ with a HS Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions.
• Must be physically able to perform duties (e.g., walk on uneven grounds, carry 75 lbs.).
• Must be willing to learn to run a bucket truck and operate equipment safely.
• Must be willing to obtain CDL A or B license and certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Manual removal of vegetation from work areas.
• Pesticide application as needed.
• Safely operating forestry equipment (skidders, mowers, chainsaws, ATVs).
• Perform line clearance, pruning, and removals.
• Work outdoors in varying heights and weather.
