Job summary

Lucas Tree Experts in Rutland, VT seeks Arborist Trainee / Climber for transmission line work. The role is full-time year-round outdoor labor; no prior tree-industry experience required as we provide comprehensive on-the-job training and support licensing and certifications.

Qualifications

• No experience in the tree industry is required; on-the-job training is provided.
• Must be able to work 45 hours weekly in outdoor conditions.
• Must be willing to obtain CDL A or B licenses and related certifications.
• Must pass post-offer physical, drug screen, background and MVR checks.
• Ability to work at varying heights and carry 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform vegetation removal and line clearance work in transmission areas.
• Operate forestry equipment such as skidders, mowers, and chainsaws safely.
• Prune and remove trees while following safety protocols.
• Assist with pesticide applications as directed.
• Learn and adhere to licensing and certification requirements for advancement.
