Job summary

The Lancaster County Government seeks a qualified supervisor to lead a crew focused on tree care, bridge maintenance, and park infrastructure within the County Park system. This role includes equipment operation, safety compliance, and coordinating with Facilities Management and other agencies.

Essential duties include directing tree removal, trail work, and bridge upkeep, with required certifications and a valid PA driver’s license. Salary is negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• B.S. in Forest Science or Urban Forestry preferred.
• One year experience or internship with a commercial arboricultural or Park-related industry.
• Computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Word and internet navigation.
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead tree care and removal on all County properties; operate bucket truck when needed.
• Lead trail maintenance on all County Park trails.
• Lead maintenance and minor repairs to County bridges.
• Maintain bridge signs per NBIS inspections.
• Document daily Park activities in a work order system and track mileage.
