Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in Texas is seeking an Arborist Ground Person to join a professional, safety‑focused outdoor team. This entry‑level role provides hands‑on, on‑the‑job training in practical arboriculture tasks on commercial and residential properties.

You will learn to prune, rig, cable and brace trees, remove hazardous trees, operate tools and equipment, and follow strict safety procedures. Bartlett offers a safety‑first culture, opportunities for advancement, and strong support for

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with hands-on training in practical arboriculture.
• Experience in tree care or landscaping preferred but not required.
• Must be able to perform manual labor outdoors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Learn through on-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture: pruning trees, rigging, cabling and bracing.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Properly maintain and operate equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Implement work zone safety procedures.
• Assist Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft.
• Assist with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties.

As an Arborist Ground Person, you will play an important role in

• Learning through on-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning trees
  • Rigging
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Removal of hazardous trees
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
  • Implementing work zone safety procedures
  • Assisting Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders working on the ground and aloft
  • Assisting with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• Interest in working outdoors year-round performing manual labor in all weather conditions
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team
• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
• Valid driver's license
• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science or a related field is preferred but not required
