Bartlett Tree Experts in Seattle, WA is seeking an Arborist Ground Person to join our outdoors-focused team. This entry-level role offers hands-on training in pruning, rigging, cabling, and equipment operation while safeguarding safety standards.

You will grow through on-the-job learning, support Arborist Climbers, and participate in a culture that values safety, professional development, and internal advancement. A valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training in arboriculture basics.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Interest in outdoor year-round work.
• Prior tree care or landscaping experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to safely perform pruning, rigging, cabling, and removal of hazardous trees.
• Assist with operating and maintaining equipment such as hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Support Arborist Climbers and Crew Leaders on ground and aloft tasks.
• Help with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties when needed.

As an Arborist Ground Person, you will play an important role in

• Learning through on-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning trees
  • Rigging
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Removal of hazardous trees
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
  • Implementing work zone safety procedures
  • Assisting Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders working on the ground and aloft
  • Assisting with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• Interest in working outdoors year-round performing manual labor in all weather conditions
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team
• Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
• Valid driver's license
• Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science or a related field is preferred but not required
