Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Production Arborist to join our outdoor-focused team. You will perform ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties while upholding safety and professional standards.

The role involves tree care tasks, risk assessments, pruning, removals, and equipment operation. A valid driver’s license and pesticide license are preferred; year-round outdoor work is required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in the tree care industry preferred.
• Valid driver’s license (Class A/B CDL preferred).
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Valid state pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain after hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties as directed by Crew Lead.
• Safely perform pruning, removals, cabling, bracing, and root collar excavations.
• Identify trees, assess risk, and maintain tools and equipment.
• Perform tree/shrub care treatments using prescribed methods.
• Adhere to all safety rules and company policies.
• Display passion for nature and outdoor work.

As an Arborist, you will play an important role in

• Performing ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by the Arborist Crew Leader
• Safely performing all aspects of arboriculture, including
• Tree identification
• Tree risk assessments
• Pruning
• Removals
• Cabling and bracing
• Root collar excavations
• Properly maintaining and operating tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Performing tree and shrub care treatments using spray, tree injection, and soil injection tools as prescribed by the Arborist Representative
• Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least one (1) year of experience in the tree care industry is preferred
• Valid driver\'s license (Class A/B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Valid state pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain following hire date - We will pay for the cost of the exam and help you prepare!
