Job Overview
As an arborist you will be responsible the maintenance, pruning, removal, and general care of trees both residential and commercial. This role is hands-on and physically demanding, involving ground work, climbing and operating various equipment. An ideal candidate will be proficient with ANSI A300 and Z133 standards.
Duties
- Perform tree trimming, pruning, and removal using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Operate bucket trucks, aerial lifts, wood chippers, skid steers and stump grinders safely and efficiently.
- Utilize rigging methods for safe tree removal and limb lowering.
- Operate chainsaws, pole saws, and other power tools safely.
- Drag and chip brush, rake debris, and clean up work sites.
- Support climbers and bucket truck operators from the ground.
- Load and unload equipment and tools at the start and end of each job.
- Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Direct pedestrian or vehicle traffic around job sites as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
Experience
- Proven experience in tree care, including trimming, pruning, and removal.
- Experience operating bucket trucks and performing bucket operations safely.
- Understanding of rigging techniques used in arboriculture is preferred.
- ISA Certified Arborist or other relevant certifications are a plus (CTSP, TRAQ, etc.).
- Knowledge of tree species.
- Proficient in tree climbing techniques and aerial lift operation.
- Familiarity with ANSI A300 and Z133 safety standards.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
