Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, offers a Summer Arboriculture Intern position for 8–12 weeks, 40 hours per week, starting in May with flexible dates. You will work with Bartlett's arborists to gain practical field experience in scientific tree and shrub care on residential and commercial properties.

The internship provides hands-on learning in pruning, rigging, cabling, root collar work, removals, equipment operation, and exposure to integrated pest management, soil sampling,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Turfgrass, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Outdoor Recreation, Agriculture or related field.
• Interest in working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team and learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Pruning, rigging, cabling, root collar excavations, removals.
• Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts).
• Gaining understanding of integrated pest management, soil sampling, and record-keeping.
