Job summary

Meta’s Reality Labs Research Audio team seeks interns to study how users emotionally experience audio in augmented and virtual reality. The role emphasizes qualitative methods, diaries, interviews, and longitudinal studies to understand presence, memory, and listening experiences.

Qualifications

PhD in psychology, cognitive science, anthropology, sociology, communication, human-computer interaction, or a similar field.
2+ years of qualitative or mixed-methods human subjects research experience.
2+ years designing qualitative protocols and interpretive analysis at doctoral level.

Responsibilities

Conduct exploratory qualitative research on audio experience in AR/VR.
Design and run qualitative studies, diaries, field research, and think-aloud protocols.
Analyze qualitative data and synthesize frameworks and experiential models.
Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and designers to triangulate findings.
Communicate research framing and insights through narrative and visuals.
