Job summary

Beacon Hill is seeking a Staff Accountant with a solid Accounts Receivable background to support a diverse portfolio of projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. This hybrid role covers billing, collections, cash applications, and reconciliations across construction, real estate development, and property management activities.

The ideal candidate will manage invoicing, monitor aging, and collaborate with project teams and property managers to ensure accurate receivables and smooth cash flow.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience with a strong Accounts Receivable focus.
• Experience in construction, real estate, property management, or other project-based industries preferred.
• Understanding of project billing, job costing, or property accounting concepts is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute customer, project, and tenant invoices.
• Apply cash receipts and maintain accurate customer accounts.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding invoicing and collections.
• Support project billing activities, including progress billings and pay applications.
• Assist with retention tracking, change orders, and contract compliance.
• Work with Property Management teams to resolve tenant inquiries and discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations; assist month-end close and financial reporting.
